“Bruce Kurnow breathes new life into traditional holiday hymns, carols, and tunes. In doing so he takes us to a place that includes classics from the Highlands, blues from the Lowlands, and a broad base of ethnic voices and rhythms. Clearly Bruce proves that he can travel many roads.” - Robert Stead, The Classical Free-Reed
Bruce Kurnow is a native of Minneapolis, Minnesota who has enjoyed a long career in the music industry. At the age of 3 he bagan playing the piano, and was immediately hooked. As a teenager he discovered a special connection with the harmonica and has remained dedicated to exploring the instruments possibilities. He also plays stringed harp, piano, guzheng (Chinese harp) as well as having studied voice, theory, and composition. All this has proven to be a solid foundation for his subsequent work that includes 27 recordings of original compositions, as well as works on 11 non-original pieces.
