Mimi Fox, a remarkable jazz guitarist whose work encompasses everything from sensitive reflection to swinging aggressiveness. She has long been one of the San Franacisco Bay Area’s most sought after players and was nominated for a Bammie Award in 1989 for her first recording. In addition to Mimi’s impressive technique and deep reservoir of improvisational ideas, this CD cleerly displays her considerable talents as a composer.
Fox introduced herself to the international jazz scene in the 1990s with a pair of CDs on Monarch Records including Kicks, a high energy project pairing her with collaborators such as Joey DeFrancesco and Yellowjackets Russell Ferrante and Will Kenney.
